Automation of Vehicle Registration at the Svartön Industrial Area – A Success Story

At Företagsskydd (owned by SSAB), we manage the security for nine companies located within the Svartön industrial area in Luleå. Traditionally, the process of registering incoming transport vehicles has been manual and time-consuming, which has not only burdened our staff but also created bottlenecks for the drivers arriving at the area. As the number of transports increased, the need for a more efficient and automated solution became apparent.

Challenge

The challenge was to transform an outdated and manual registration process into a modern, automated solution that could handle increasing volumes of transport vehicles without compromising security or efficiency. It was also crucial that the new system could offer drivers a better experience by making information available in their own language.

Solution

In collaboration with LUP, we took on this challenge through a project that was driven with great commitment and professionalism. LUP acted as the leading project manager throughout the implementation phase, from photography and setting up maps to translating necessary materials. This comprehensive approach ensured that all parts of the system were not only functional but also adapted to the users' needs.
